The Weekend PBR Wrap-Up – 3-Sep

PBR Australia Touring Pro Division – Cunnamulla, QLD.

As the only rider to go a perfect 2-for-2, Brady Fielder (Clermont, QLD) captured the sixth event win of his rookie season at the 2019 Cunnamulla Festival PBR on Saturday.

The 19-year-old began the event with a 78 point ride on Midnight Hour (Maynes Bucking Bulls), finishing in third place in Round 1.

He then added a second qualified ride by covering Rock Solid (Robert Bunn) for 78.5 points in Round 2 taking his aggregate total to 156.5 points.

Both of Fielder’s rides resulted in third-place finishes during their respective rounds.

For the victory, Fielder collected 270 points towards the PBR Australian National Standings and closed the gap between himself and Aaron Kleier to 1002.5 points. Fielder also earned 60 world points which moved him up three spots to sit No. 35 in the PBR World Standings.

Ethan Watts (Tamworth, NSW) and Lane Mellers (Mundubbera, QLD) split second place in the event and were the big movers up the standings leaderboard.

Watts took home maximum points from the first round with his 84 points coming aboard Sargent Fix (Stuart Timm). The runner-up finish jumped the 27-year-old up into 10th place in the Aussie Standings.

Mellers combined with Big Buck Hunter (Stuart Timm) for his 84-point score and the Round 2 win. The 20-year-old now finds himself ranked 7th in PBR Australian competition.

Finishing in fourth place was Robert Hicks (Grafton, NSW) thanks to an 83 point ride on Big Bucks (Stuart Timm).

Reigning Australia Champion Aaron Kleier (Clermont, QLD) finished in fifth place after he covered Buck U (Robert Bunn) for 82.5 points.

Sam Woodard (Eidsvold, QLD) and Jay Borghero (Beaudesert, QLD) also finished with a score on the leaderboard.

The riders covered 25% of their bulls on the night, which is just above 5% below the season average. The average bull score was also quite low at 40.25 points, 1.2 points below the season average.

Acid Rain (Robert Bunn) produced the highest marked out of the night with 43 points awarded in his 1.72-second matchup with Lachlan Richardson (Gresford, NSW).
