It was another huge week in the PBR with seven separate Touring Pro Division events decided throughout the USA and Canada.
There were some pretty big changes to the daysheets for the Canadian events, so we didn’t see the amount of Australian cowboys we expected to see competing in last week’s edition of Aussie’s Abroad.
Here are the standout performances of the Aussie bull riders.
PBR Touring Pro Division – Jackson, WY.
Lachlan Slade split eighth place at the two-day PBR Touring Pro Division event in Jackson, Wyoming.
After bucking off The Blacklist (Dakota Rodeo/Berger) in Round 1, Slade made amends in the second round of competition putting up 87 points. His qualified ride came aboard Undertaker from EVP Bucking Bulls and split 5th thru 7th in the round. The bull turned back to the left and away from Slade’s hand but the 25-year-old was never in difficulty and could have ridden him for another minute if he had to.
Slade couldn’t handle Dusty’s Revenge ( Dakota Rodeo/Chad/Struve/H&C Bucking Bulls) in the Championship Round. The buck off come at 2.11 seconds and a 42.5 point bull score recorded for the bull.
The Tamworth cowboy finished the event just outside of the world points allocation. Jess Lockwood took out the event and moved to within 146 points of World No. 1 Jose Vitor Leme.

PBR Canada Touring Pro Division – Czar, AB.
Lane Mellers produced a perfect performance on Friday night to record a personal one-two finish at the PBR Canada Touring Pro Division event in Czar, Alberta.
The 20-year-old Mundubbera cowboy took full advantage of a dual entry opportunity to take home his first PBR event champions buckle on 4-for-4 riding. Mellers won over $6,000 in prizemoney and picked up an added $10,000 bonus thanks to his clean sweep.
After posting back to back 4th place finishes, Mellers became the second Australian to triumph in Canada this July after Brady Fielder took the win in Kinsella last weekend.
On his winning entry, Mellers covered Done Talking (Eno Bucking Bulls) for 82 points in the long round to finish fifth in the round. He then added an event-high score of 86.5-points aboard Crank-It-Up (Eno Bucking Bulls) in the championship round.
Mellers also put together a qualified ride on Throwin Shade (Flying High Rodeo Co.) for 82.5 points to kick off his second entry to split third placing in Round 1. He then combined with Twist of Barbwire (Eno Bucking Bulls) in the short-go for 84 points to finish runner-up.
Aaron Kleier and Brady Fielder added another top-10 finish to their career stats. Kleier put together an 81.5 point ride in the opening round aboard Pretty in Prison (Flying High Rodeo Co.) to finish the event in sixth place while Fielder split seventh with 80 points earned on Solid 3 (Wild Hoggs Bucking Bulls).
