Kurt Shephard was the only Australia rider that competed in PBR competition this weekend as the Unleash The Beast tour rolled into North Carolina for the penultimate stop of the regular season.

Shephard looked to have a favourable matchup to open his weekend, and he made no mistakes scoring 82-points aboard Trouble Maker from Bronco’s Bucking Bulls.
The bull turned back into his hand as the gate cracked and the 25-year-old only needed a few small corrections to make the whistle and finish the first night of competition in eighth-place.
In Round 2, Shephard faced Colt .45 from Gene Owen and Jane Clark in what was expected to be a much tougher matchup.
The bull made a big lunge forward in the chute just before the Atherton cowboy called for the gate which unseated Shephard.
He regained his composure, and the pair went to battle around to the right and away from his hand. Shephard got slightly behind and couldn’t recover with the clock stopping at 3.71 seconds and the bull scored 41.75 points.
Shephard’s single score was good enough for 16th place in the event, but he fell just short of the World Points allocation. He slips back one spot to 42nd in the PBR World Standings
Greensboro was once again a really enjoyable event, and those who braved the 3:45 am AEST start for Championship Sunday were treated to a spectacular conclusion.
Three riders finished the weekend 3-for-3 with Cooper Davis holding off Jess Lockwood and Mason Taylor.
