Gresford’s Lachlan Richardson looks well placed to record a strong result at the PBR Real Time Pain Relief Velocity Tour event in Colorado Springs, CO.
Richardson was one of twenty riders to get a score in Round 1 of the final regular-season event, sharing ninth placing with four other riders on 85-points.
His ride on Rocky Mountain High went as expected, with the bull turning back to the right out of the gate and settling into a spin. The good rhythm allowed the 25-year-old to open up with the outside leg and add some flash to the ride.
Most importantly, it was a relatively easy get off for Richardson with the PBR World Finals only a fortnight away.
Lachlan will progress onto night 2 of competition where the field will be trimmed to 30 riders. He will face off against a bull that we have seen a lot of this year.

Get Smoked (Phenom/JCL/Swalin/Goods Bucking Bulls) has had 29 career outs in PBR competition and given up 9 qualified rides. The good news for Richardson is that right-handed riders cover this bull 47% of the time.
He turns back to the right with a powerful kick but it may not be as smooth sailing as last night. Get Smoked can throw a trick or two at the rider.
He has been ridden his last three outs. Frenando Novais was 84-points in Round 1 last night with the other successful riders being Cannon Cravens and Kaique Pacheco. Pacheco put up 86.5 points in Milwaukee at the start of October.
I think Lachlan will have some fun with this one.
The field will once again be trimmed following Round 2 with the top fifteen riders progressing onto the Championship Round. The action will be Live on Ridepass from 11am Sunday (AEST).
