With the third edition of the PBR’s Global Cup just one month away, Coach Troy Dunn has awarded the final spot on the Team Australia roster to Justin Paton (Nebo, QLD).
Paton will compete inside AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on 9-10 February alongside teammates Lachlan Richardson (Gresford, NSW), Nathan Burtenshaw (Coonamble, NSW), Cliff Richardson (Gresford, NSW), Cody Heffernan (Singleton, NSW), Aaron Kleier (Clermont, QLD) and Jason Mara (Cloncurry, QLD). Kurt Shephard (Atherton, QLD) has also been named as the team’s alternate rider.
The 26-year-old finished the 2018 PBR Australia Season ranked sixth with a riding percentage of 58.82% and has begun the 2019 season well with an event win at Iron Cowboy in Tamworth and an overall record of 4-for-9.
Paton was apart of the Australian team that finished second to Team Brazil at the Global Cup in Sydney last winter, riding Notorious for 83.75 points in Round 1 and taking Bring The Action to 7.62 seconds in Round 3.
