Fielder wins Aussie Title and Richardson finishes Finals tune-up – The Final Wrap

APRA National Finals Rodeo

The Australian Professional Rodeo Association held their National Finals Rodeo in Warwick, Queensland with 18-year-old Brady Fielder taking the event win to become Australian Champion Bull Rider.

Fielder was the only cowboy to go 2-for-4 across the week after winning Round 1 with 79.5 points on Original Thing. He backed that ride up with 76-points aboard Blood & Bone, which was good enough for third in Round 2.

Sam Woodall took out Round 2 of competition, combining with Moonshine for 88 points. This ride was also good enough to finish second in the aggregate.

Third place in the round was taken by Sally Malay who put up 74 points to finish just behind Fielder.

There were no rides in Round’s 3 or 4.

The final event of the PBR regular season was held in Colorado Springs, Colorado this past weekend and there was just the once Australian rider in competition.

It was a good tune-up four the PBR World Finals bound Lachlan Richarson (Gresford, NSW) who went 1-for-2 across the weekend.

Richardson made a great ride in Round 1, combining with Rocky Mountain High for 85 points.

His Round 2 opponent was Get Smoked who had Richardson down in the well at 3.96 seconds. The bull was around to the right as expected and received a bull score of 42.

Richardson finished tied for 16th in the event.

The good news is that the 25-year-old got through the weekend and will now head to T-Mobile where his seventh PBR World Finals awaits.
