PBR Australia will have two representatives in the draw for the 2018 Real Time Pain Relief Velocity Tour (RVT) Finals which will be held in the SouthPoint Arena, 2-3 November.
Nathan Burtenshaw (Coonamble, NSW) will enter his first PBR Finals Week ranked 11th in the RVT standings and 25th in the PBR World Standings. The 24-year-old competed at just five Velocity Tour events in 2018, riding five of his seven bulls.
Burtenshaw accumulated all of his 190 Velocity Tour points early in the 2018 season.
After a 2-for-2 second-place finish in Worcester, Massachusetts, Burtenshaw backed it up a week later in Hampton, Virginia with another perfect riding performance to take home the buckle and 120 points.
Cliff Richardson (Gresford, NSW) will look to take advantage of the PBR Australia invite position in his debut RVT event.
Richardson is in the midst of a career year with a 46% success rate worldwide and sits 44th in the PBR World Standings. The 27-year-old made two trips to the USA this year and competed at the Touring Pro level where he finished the season 1-for-4.
Rides like his 88-point effort on Long Haired Outlaw in Pendleton, Oregon last month show that Richardson should fit right in at this level.
2017 PBR Australian National Champion Troy Wilkinson is currently ranked 27th in the RVT standings but is out of competition as he continues to recover from mid-season elbow surgery.
