Following the mid-week PBR Last Cowboy Standing event in Cheyenne, our focus now turns back to the Touring Pro Division in the USA and Canada for the weekend.
Take a look at The PBR Rundown for event times and broadcast details.
Let’s take a look at where our Aussie riders have entered:
PBR Canada Touring Pro Division – North Battleford, SK.
This event will be the last hit out in Canada for most of these young-guns before they fly home for next week’s PBR Australia Monster Energy Tour event in Newcastle.
Once again, ride vision has been hard to find on most of these bulls and we may have to wait a day or two before we see some numbers.
- Jack Keats on Playing Chicken (Vold Rodeo)
- Jake Curr on Strong Arm (Vold Rodeo)
- Aaron Kleier on Mystic (R Saga Ranch)
- Will Purcell on Finning Buck Rite (Flying Four Bucking Bulls)
- Brady Fielder on Homeboy (Skori Bucking Bulls)
- Troy Berry on Grizz (Wild Hoggs / Trish Streeter)
- Donovan Rutherfurd on Chances (Wild Hoggs)
Here is the Full Daysheet for North Battleford.
PBR Touring Pro Division – Big Sky, MT.
On US soil, a handy field of riders will contest the three-day event in Big Sky, Montana. All three days of the six-time PBR Event of the Year will be shown live on RidePass so make sure you tune in to watch Nathan Burtenshaw and Lachlan Slade go around.
Friday – Round 1 Matchups
Nathan Burtenshaw on Gunsmoke (Dakota Rodeo/Berger/Struve)
Burtenshaw made his return to the premier series last week with a buck off, but he has a nice chance to put that out behind him here. Gunsmoke has had just five outs in PBR competition, and he has been covered twice for mid to high 80-point scores. He doesn’t travel far from the gate and will be around to the left. That is away from Burtenshaw’s hand, but the bull has excellent timing, and that gives our guy a great shot at making the whistle.
Lachlan Slade on Huckleberry ( Dakota Rodeo/Berger/Scott)
Slade took some time off to rest up following his eighth-place finish in Jackson Hole, and he goes up against the bull that Burtenshaw took on in Round 2 at that event. This bull is a regular on the Unleash The Beast tour, and he is generally around to the left with good power and gets stronger as the ride progresses. Huckleberry has been ridden 11 times from 27 outs with right-handed riders getting the job done just below 45% of the time. This matchup looks a good chance for Slade to keep the ball rolling.

Saturday – Round 2 Matchups
Nathan Burtenshaw on Big Black Cat (Dakota Rodeo/Berger/Struve/Heald Pro Bulls)
Big Black Cat is a veteran bull who has been making a mess of the worlds best riders on the Unleash The Beast tour over the past two seasons with just three qualified rides recorded from 28 outs in PBR competition. He can turn back either way, but his last few trips have been to the left into a tight spin. The bull then adds a lot of forward movement as the clock progresses, bringing most riders unstuck in the moments approaching the whistle.
Lachlan Slade on Switchback (PK Triplett Bucking Bulls)
This bull is a newcomer to the PBR, and he has been putting up great numbers, averaging 43.5 points in his three career outs. We saw Switchback buck earlier this week at the Last Cowboy Standing where he bucked off Michael Lane in 2.31 seconds and put up a 44 point bull score. He is strong, fast and around to the left with lots of kick.
Here is the Daysheet for Round 2.
Sunday – Round 3 Matchups
Lachlan Slade on Low Dog (Dakota Rodeo/Berger/Struve/Barnhard)
Low Dog remains unridden in six outs. Kache Moosman made the whistle on this bull last night but got called for the touch late in the ride. He will be around to the right, which gives Slade the edge.
Nathan Burtenshaw on Short Night (Dakota Rodeo/Berger/Struve/Barnhard)
We have seen this bull just the once in PBR competition, and that was in Round 1 here at Big Sky. He bucked off Tyler Harr in 7.22 seconds after turning back to the right for a 41.5 point bull score. I like Burtenshaw a lot in this matchup.
