This weekend PBR Canada will crown their 2019 National Champion in Saskatoon and Lane Mellers will be the lone Australian rider competing this weekend.
The Mundubbera bull rider finished 19th in the Canadian Standings this year after he put together a strong summer run to qualify.
The 20-year-old recorded a personal 1-2 in Czar, Alberta and added fourth-place finishes in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan and Kinsella, Alberta over a nine-day stretch in July.

2019 PBR Canada National Finals – Saskatoon, SK.
In Round 1, Mellers will go up against Catch of the Day from Wild Hoggs Bucking Bulls. This bull has been ridden six times in PBR competition from eleven outs. Brady Fielder combined with Catch of the Day for 84.5 points at Lloydminster and that is a fairly typical score. This bull is consistently around to the right as soon as the gate cracks at a nice tempo.
Tom Petty from Skori Bucking Bulls will be Mellers’ opponent in Round 2. This bull has been covered four times in his last eight trips for scores ranging from 84.5 points to 87.5 points. Out of the left delivery, he will fake to the left, before turning right and getting down to business at a nice pace.
In the third and final long round, Mellers drafted Broken Trigger from Skori Bucking Bulls. This bull has been covered a bunch of times this season with most scores coming in around the 86-point mark. He looks as though he will be around to the right with good rhythm.
