Atherton’s Kurt Shephard and Coonamble’s Nathan Burtenshaw head to Nashville, Tennessee for the Music City Knockout. It is a ride to progress format with the field trimmed from 40 to 25 after Round 1, then on Day 2, will be further reduced to 8, then 4, then 2 to find a winner. This event is the final PBR Major of the season.
Tamworth’s Lachlan Slade heads north of the border once again this week to chase the cash and points in Canada before returning to the USA for an event on Sunday.
Here is this weeks edition of The PBR Rundown.
PBR Canada Touring Pro Division – Coronation, AB.
Slade will go up against Lon’s Lost It (Wild Hoggs Bucking Bulls). From what I been able to find on social media, this bull likes to turn back to the left and gets down to business directly in front of the chutes. He has been covered twice this summer for low to mid 80 point scores.

PBR Unleash The Beast – Nashville, TN.
Round 1
Kurt Shephard will take on Clemmons Time (Deer Prairie Creek Bucking Bulls / 5S Bucking Bulls) in Section 1. This bull is making his PBR debut and I have been unable to track down any vision on social media.
In Section 3, Nathan Burtenshaw will go up against Mickey Mouse (Deer Prairie Creek Bucking Bulls). This bull has been covered four times from his six trips in PBR competition with most scores in the mid-80 point range. Last time he performed was in Florida where Allison de Souza was 89.50 points in the short-go for the win. We have seen Mickey Mouse turn back in both directions in the past.
Here is the daysheet for Night 1 in Nashville.
Day 2
Kurt Shephard will be out in Section 2, and Nathan Burtenshaw will be out in Section 3. Both of the Aussies have drawn tough bucking bulls.
This round has some outstanding bull power listed on the daysheet, and with just eight riders progressing onto Round 3, any qualified ride will be a good one.
Chad Berger, Clay Struve, Wilks Ranch, Paradigm Bull Company’s Sky Harbour will be the opponent for Shephard. These two almost matched up a fortnight ago in Tulsa but Shephard chose to go the other way in the Championship Round Draft. Sky Harbor has been out 18 times and given up just a few rides. He turns back to the left initially, but things can change fast. He is one of the hardest buckers in this pen, but left-handed riders do have a 2-for-6 record against him.
Burtenshaw goes up against Wild Goose from D&H Cattle Co. and Buck Cattle Co. This bull has been covered six times in 46 outs and just once in the last 18 months. Luciano De Castro was 89.5 points at Cheyenne. Wild Goose is yet to be covered by a right-handed rider with 18 riders attempting. He will be around to the left with a lot of kick and forward movement.
Check out the daysheet for Day 2.
PBR Touring Pro Division – Eureka, MT.
Lachlan Slade heads back stateside on Sunday to take on Tequila Slinger (Dakota Rodeo – Chad Berger/Clay Struve/Ken Barnhard). This bull has bucked at a few Touring Pro Division events and has been covered twice. Luis Blanco was 89.5 points in January at Denver and Joao Ricardo Vieira was 84 in March at Dayton.
I have been unable to find any vision of either ride.
