2019 PBR Finals Week – Day 4 Update

There isn’t much to report from yesterday, so let’s jump straight into today.

Coming Up Today

The ABBI World Finals kicked off earlier this morning inside the arena at the South Point with Round 1 of the Futurity Finals.

The arena also hosts the UBHA Bucking Horse Finals after lunch and the day will end with the annual Heroes & Legends Celebration.

2008 PBR World Champion Guilherme Marchi will be inducted into the PBR Ring of Honor, and 1995 World Champion Bull Bodacious will be presented the PBR Brand of Honor, the sport’s highest recognition for a bovine athlete.

The Ty Murray Top Hand award, introduced last year for athletes from the rodeo world exemplifying excellence and traditional cowboy values, will go to rodeo legends Phil Lyne and Larry Mahan. The Jim Shoulders Lifetime Achievement Award will be awarded to Neal Gay and Mack Altizer. Kylie Shivers will receive the Sharon Shoulders Award.

It’s all live on RidePass so check out The PBR Rundown for all the Australian timings.

Coming Up Tomorrow

The 2019 PBR World Finals kicks off with Round 1 and riders will face the bulls competing in the ABBI Classic Competition.

The morning kicks off with the ABBI Cowgirl, ABBI Junior and ABBI Limited Futurity competitions.

Flint Rasmussen “Outside the Barrel” always features some great guests at lunchtime with Round 1 of Chris Shivers Mini Bull Riders World Finals and Shorty Gorham’s American Freestyle Bull Fighting World Finals held in the arena during the afternoon.

2019 PBR World Finals Australian Qualifiers

As I touched on yesterday, the 40-rider roster for the World Finals was announced yesterday morning. Clermont’s Brady Fielder and Gresford’s Cliff Richardson both qualified for their first Finals via their World Rankings.

Both riders are in top form heading to T-Mobile. No. 33 Fielder has picked up cheques at his last seven events in PBR competition while No. 36 Richardson has bucked off just one of his past eleven bulls.

The draws for the opening rounds have been released, so make sure you check back tomorrow!
